Cafe Kurukuma

You came to Okinawa trip and you do not know this place? It's a big mistake. Be sure to consider coming here. It was the most delicious place in Okinawa. I especially recommend curry. Curry made by beef, pork and chicken. We can taste it at once. It was really great. Please try it. The scenery is good, of course. Location is not very good, but if you have a car there is no problem.

Good food, fast service, friendly staff. Good ambience, and not too crowded. With a very nice view overlooking the ocean.

Food is absolutely amazing, unlike most Japanese restaurants when they say level 4/4 spice they mean it. The green curry is really spicy and so is the chicken and basil. The pineapple fried rice is so good. The portions are really big. The combo plate pictured is the kids meal, which my kids love from here. Also the view is great, even on a cloudy day. There almost always a bit of a wait, as it is quite popular with tourists. We went for Sunday brunch and got there at 10am (opening time) and sat right away, by the time we were finished eating it was full and there was a waiting list.

Very oriental with variety of food to choose from. The view they have there are just breath taking! Last order is 7:30pm so make sure to go before that!

A small cafe on the Chinen Cape. Their open space, which has a beautiful ocean view is only for "sweets". In-house seatings are for dinning. It was such a small house but it was nice.

Found this cafe, loved it, can’t wait to go back! My husband ordered the lunch curry special. 3 curry bowls with cutlet, soup, rice, and salad for under ¥2000. We both liked all 3 curry sets but loved the spicier option overall. I loved my spicy chicken and peppers. It was spicy but not too crazy hot. Afterwards, we walked around outside to enjoy the gorgeous view. I can’t wait to go back and try a dessert, sit back, and enjoy a gorgeous sunset.

Pitched on a high hill, the restaurant sells pricey Thai food with a fantastic view. If you are dining in, you have to sit indoors. Come just for the drinks and you get to sit on the veranda overlooking an impressive view of the ocean. The food portions are big though. Taste average. My green curry gravy is quite dilute.

Five stars are not enough to give this place. This restaurant is absolutely fantastic. A great mix of Thai and Japanese food. Simply super delicious. Every curry is good, soups are to die for and the coffee is incredible. Did I mention the gorgeous view? Highly recommended.

Superb view!Very nice restaurant situated in hill top. We went there during New year’s holiday, so it was quite crowded but they sill managed to arrange table for us quite fast ~ only 20 minutes waiting.We ordered many Thai food, and only 5 minutes after ordered, we all get our orders already! The dishes were large and could be shared for 2 people.Somtum gaiyaang is delicious and the sauce is tamarind-based sauce, so it is very traditional. However, I don’t like the fact that they put plaraa in somtum, because usually some Thai people don’t eat plaraa due to strong taste and smell.Yum woonsen is good and quite sweet. Pupadpongkaree is good also, but not the best.Overall, their Thai dish is quite good since lots of ingredients are from traditionally Thai- and their head chef is Thai so...All in all, nice restaurant with superb view and amazing Thai food.

It’s a tourist trap with a good view. The food is clearly pre-made and they just heat it up after you order it. You can find a good view somewhere else without having to buy overpriced reheated food.

The food is delicious and the service is fast. It’s one of our favorite stops on the island.

The Thai food was authentic. Using quality ingredients and everything was delicious. Accompanied with a gorgeous view. I don't things could have been much better. The meals all had healthy portions or meat to include shrimp in the Tom you goon. It's a little difficult to get to as there was some construction going on on the roads so I had to make a big detour. Prices were ok a lil pricey but I really couldn't complain. Look to spend about 2500 yen per person

It’s a bit far from the downtown. Need to have a car to reach here. The view is definitely worth for a stay. The price is not so expensive. Curcuma provides a ¥730 dessert set(came & drink). Just stay for a while enjoying the sunset :)

Fantastic place with nice view and great Thai food

Super friendly staff, delicious Thai curry, fantastic ocean view, reasonable pricing, and plentiful amounts to share for party of five. Shop outside had cute little trinkets and food/ sauces for sale.seating inside or outside available.Had a delicious meal consisting of curry set (3 curry of pork, chicken and beef and rice plus grilled pork cutlet) for about 1500Â¥, some spring rolls, pineapple fried rice and 2 plain naan for 200Â¥ each. Totally coming back.

The restaurant is located in a very scenic area with a cold garden and a small museum. There is plenty of parking and the place feels very cozy. The reason I gave only 3 stars was food and service. Both were alright but can be improved! The soup didn’t taste fresh and the waiter was rather cold and not too welcoming.

This cafe is a little far from the main tourist attractions, but is definitely worth the visit. If you want to eat, you may end up waiting a bit. But if you just want drinks and sweets, then you can enjoy the beautiful view from the seats outside. There's also a small little garden around the cafe.

I was kind of disappointed after expecting great thai food from reading all the other reviews. I have been in Osaka for about 5 years and the 5 things we ordered were all very off the shelf Japanese dishes. Nothing was bad but just more average Japanese family restaurant than anything. If you go try to order something that is actually more authentic.

Food is delicious but the view is breathtaking!

This is a restaurant no traveler should miss, when visiting Nanjo City in Okinawa. Staff are friendly, polite and helpful. Meals can be ordered ranging anywhere from hot and spicy, to simply delicious chicken, pork, steaks, soups or curry. Indoor or outdoor seating is available and the views are terrific. Meals are very reasonably priced, delicious and service is fast. Three times over the past few months, I've visited with friends and will continue going to sample all the meals. It is a family friendly establishment. They have a gift shop and some interesting archaeological items to view on the premises. Wheelchair and stroller friendly, as well.

A wonderful cafe on top of a large hill overlooking the ocean. The food it Thai inspired and was delicious. I would highly recommend this place.

Great place with a great view. Expected a smaller joint but the place exceeds expectations. Annoying to get there but it is worth the trouble. Food is very close to home if not completely authentic.

The roads according to Google Map were under construction but there was a man who kindly showed us how to get here. The food isn’t authentic Thai. I give it 4 points for the view from the terrace.

We came here not knowing it's Thai food. We're Thai and came away impressed with the food here. You can sense the spices , but the chef revolutionize the taste to the next level.

Went here, hungry, ready for something, almost anything, as long as it was good. The chicken smelled great. My friend's spaghetti was decent; the lemonade was average, and there was nothing great about it, just cool to see the color of it change to purple. What took me out of it was the mediocre lemonade and the average dessert. The chicken, although smelling wonderful, tasted...like chicken. It had nothing unique about it, and the fries were like any other fries you could get anywhere. The employees were nice and friendly. The aesthetic was cozy and welcoming, but the food presentation was off to me. Parking is small, and the location of the establishment is inconvenient. The rolls also left a bad taste in our mouths. Not a place I expect to return to.

Make sure to visit this cafe while your stomach is not empty and have just a drink here.You cannot use the terrace seat when you have food. Terrace seats are only for drink and sweets.We ordered chicken curry and Pad Thai, but both were served in 5 minutes. Food was mediocre. It seemed like they were just heated up.The cafe looks like junkyard. However the view is great. It’s worth coming just for the view, so make sure to come here when you are not hungry!

This is my favorite place on island! The food is GREAT and the scenery is AWESOME! Cafe Curcuma is well priced and the staff are friendly. Even with a full restaurant we still got our food quickly. I have been here multiple times and will continue going. Make sure to visit this place at least once.

Excellent food, service and prices. I have never seen my husband so impressed by a restaurant I picked out. I’ve only had Thai food once before, so my husband picked out our dishes. He said it was the best Thai he’s ever had 😍😍😍 We both agreed with other peoples reviews about the soup being good. We didn’t get a window seat but the atmosphere was still very nice. After our meal we walked around taking pictures of the beautiful scenery. The lighting is perfect close to sunset and the sky is gorgeous. We enjoyed looking at all the crystals and fossils they had on display too. It was a wonderful ending to our day. Oh and I don’t like spicy food but I didn’t find anything overly spicy. Everything tasted amazing and didn’t have me chugging water.
